Do You Need a Logo ???

With Happiness And Tranquility Logo Process

What logo concept submitted into a student contest at Carroll community college. There were many steps involved for submission and a lot of client and designer interaction. My logo was not the winner but was a good experience. The client really liked my curve designs. so we built off that. He picked the color red because it represents Energy so we used a greenish gray for contrast.

First I start by gathering as much information about the client as possible. Then I submitted 50 pen sketches to the client. After discussion and approval I moved on to developing designs in adobe illustrator as seen above. We came to an agreement on number 7 with some changes to it.

HooksNHounds Logo

This logo was designed around the clients dog for her shop that makes crocheted items. the logo was to help her stand out on etsy. Also, the design was potentially for the tags that would ship out with the items she made. The dog is based on her actual dog and it was my idea to place the dog in the wicker basket surrounded by yarn. I also, added a nice texture to the text that reminded me of the crotchet texture.

This is the dog the logo was designed after. I made the dog appear younger in the logo. In a style not overly complex but still clean. Besides designing the text, including the dog was the only real request made for the design. I would of liked more pictures an a couple years latter looking at it now I'd like to redesign the dog.
